Workspace: My Work, Tasks & Research Tools

What It's For

Workspace is the project management and research hub for your team. It sits between day-to-day IP management (Home) and external-facing activities (Marketing) β€” bringing together task tracking, approvals workflows, and patent research tools in one place.

Project Management

My Work gives you a personal dashboard of everything assigned to you across all modules β€” disclosures pending your review, tasks due, approvals waiting for your sign-off.

Tasks is a shared team task list. Create tasks and link them to any record (disclosure, patent, agreement) so work is tracked in context. Assign to teammates, set due dates, and mark complete.

My Approvals shows any items that require your formal approval β€” typically bills awaiting sign-off before payment. See Finance: Bills, Expenses & Approvals for the full approval workflow.

Research Tools

Patent Search lets you search the global patent database directly from within Tradespace β€” no need to switch to Google Patents or Espacenet. Search by keyword, inventor, assignee, or classification code.

Compare lets you put two or more patents side-by-side for claim analysis and prior art evaluation.

Technologies is a curated library of technology categories and classifications used across your portfolio. Use it to tag disclosures and filings consistently, which improves reporting and licensee matching in Marketing.

Tips

  • Use My Work as your daily starting point β€” it surfaces everything that needs your attention without hunting through individual modules.

  • Tasks linked to a record appear on that record's Related Items tab, so context follows the work.

  • Patent Search results can be saved and attached to a disclosure or filing as prior art references.
